n western Härjedalen is one of Sweden's 52 Sami villages, Mittådalens Sami village. A Sami village is partly a geographical area and an economic association whose mission is to herd reindeer in the Sami community. Most samivillages moving reindeer between winter grazing lands in the forest area for summer grazing lands in the mountains and is then called "mountain Sami villages." Reindeer husbandry is conducted collectively and Mittådalens reindeer is at Sonfjället during the winter to the spring moves up to calving pastures at Helags and Sylarna. During the summer, takes the calf noticeable again in Mittåhamrarna, at Mittåkläppen, and there goes families and friends to tag along reindeer calves.
